Especially enjoyed Antarctic Peninsula...beautiful mountains, bays, bergs and wildlife. Some unforgettable encounters with humpback whales while we were in the Zodiacs. Ship crew and staff were outstanding--very hardworking, efficient, and always good-natured. Guides were enthusiastic and well grounded in their topics-- Justine (historian), Dany (whales), Jean, Annie, and Kit were especially capable. Ben the guest service coordinator was very good as well. Enjoyed all their presentations.

Everything about this trip exceeded our expectations. The animals, the animals, the animals! It was a privilege to walk among them. Also, a pretty small group of like minded travelers provided for great table talk, shared experiences, and new friendships - some that will last a lifetime. I would not trade a day of it, even those just at sea. Don't miss South Georgia Island!!! We have no idea how they did it, but the staff of Hebridean Sky was first rate in every way. Superb food and service. The staff has been trained to give personal service and many of them took time to learn our names and preferences. The guides are AMAZING, very dedicated to the area, very knowledgeable, and very determined to give you the experience of a lifetime. Every one of them blew us away.

Jennifer and Sarah were responsive, knowledgeable and professional. Jennifer was able to assist in weeding through all the expedition companies and routes to provide what we were looking for. She also had kayaked in Antarctica and had recommended it — so glad we did. Highlight of the trip. And their patience and quick response to our myriad of questions. Very thankful for their help. Epic. From incredible scenery with snow capped mountains, a menagerie of icebergs of immense proportions and shapes; Minke whales checking us out in the zodiacs as we checked them out, kayaking as penguins porpoised by us, the tranquility; humpback whales diving under our kayaks as gentle giants and appearing on the other side; the ship's crew and it's captain Oleg; incredible meals and waitstaff; expedition staff: their knowledge, professionalism and sharing the same pure enthusiasm of seeing the seals, whales, masses of penguins, sites. Excellent. Kayaking guides were professional and experienced. Getting us on the water whenever safely possible.

The Falkland Islands and South Georgia were such a fantastic surprise. The wildlife viewing was phenomenal in both places, and the islands are so beautiful. Anyone going to Antarctica without visiting these other gems would be missing out on a huge opportunity. This trip lived up to my very high expectations. All of the ship's crew provided excellent service. The naturalist guides really make it a special trip. They share their knowledge with you both in lectures and while you are out cruising in the zodiacs. It was a super experience but also very educational (in a fun way).

The trip was amazing. The scenery, wildlife, and landings were beyond what we could have imagined. I am so happy we chose to do the full itinerary of South Georgia, the Falkland Islands, and Antarctica, rather than the shorter Antarctica-only itinerary. So worth it. Also, going in late January to early February was perfect as we saw so many young penguin chicks and cute fur seal pups.

Most memorable was the sea kayaking program. It made a huge difference to have nine amazing two-hour outings close to the water, ice floes, seals, and penguins -- really unique, serene, and memorable. Also memorable: landings on the penguin colonies and the opportunity to walk with them, and the non-stop, wrap-around, beautiful, unique, unspoilt scenery.

I would spend hours on deck just staring at the incredible landscapes. Prepare for frequent changes to the schedule due to weather and ice conditions, and don't get frustrated by them -- it's all part of the experience. Incredible (and plentiful) food -- way better than I was expecting. Five-star service from the crew and staff made for a memorable trip. Our comfort and safety could not have been looked after better, whether on-board or on excursions. I appreciated the little touches like hot chocolate after excursions and chocolates on pillows. ExpeditionTrips kept us informed every step of the way up to departure, and were responsive to any questions.

Of course a trip to Antarctica is going to be, literally, wondrous. But what made it really special was the expedition staff. Every last one of them was great -- knowledgeable, personable, and fun. Just great people. I had not known about Zegrahm at all -- never heard of them. When I told Alison Ashton what I was thinking about, she introduced me to them. I’m so glad she did! Furthermore, she did not push them on me. She simply told me about them as another trip to consider. I greatly appreciated that.

The surprising part of the trip was seeing tabular icebergs during our days at sea. I dreaded the long days at sea between landings. In reality, they were just as memorable because of the people and wonderful staff keeping us busy with fun and interesting activities.

Honestly, every day was memorable. Antarctica met my high expectations. While I was well aware of their beauty before departure date, when first researching an Antarctic expedition I never dreamed that the Falkland Islands and South Georgia would be so exciting to visit. Even the days "at sea" were fun as there were many whale, bird and iceberg sightings and the lectures/films were informative and entertaining.

The most memorable part of the trip was all of it! It had geography, history, biology, and the most incredible people to listen to and discuss what we saw with. The Falklands were beautiful and a good introduction to penguins. South Georgia was AMAZING! We saw everything there and more. We even got in some great walking! Antarctica had penguins, seals, whales, birds... it was overwhelming! I was walked on Antarctica on my birthday! The South Shetlands had more beauty. I did the POLAR PLUNGE!

The trip was stupendous in every respect. We had some rough seas between Falklands and Georgia, but tolerable. We had excellent weather at South Georgia and never had to forego a Zodiac landing. The wildlife was, of course, sensational, and that is what I would share with any potential travelers. The staff and naturalist guides were consistently excellent and accommodating to our needs and requests.

The most memorable parts of this expedition were definitely the amazing wildlife encounters especially with the penguins and the whales. But also the landscape of Antarctica and South Georgia.

The level of service was very good. It was honest, tangible, fun and focused on the wildlife and nature experience. So perfect for me. Not to "over the top" or cruise oriented but really focused on the experience.

Sea kayaking in Antarctica was incredible and gave us the ability to explore in a small quiet group. We had a very close encounter with an orca while kayaking. I have seen pictures of Antarctica but it doesn't compare to the purity and beauty of the experience. The penguins and fur seals in South Georgia, and the albatross colonies in the Falkland islands were amazing. Our trip in January gave us the opportunity to see baby penguins, albatross and seals. I liked the smaller ship atmosphere. We had the opportunity for land or zodiac excursions 2 or 3 times per day when not at sea.

Because of photos I shared of this trip with my running club, we are now raising money for environmental conservation for the amazing continent. Thank you for the inspiration. Everyone says you go for the penguins but you fall in love with the ice, and they are absolutely right. The penguins were funny and photogenic and EVERYWHERE. But the part that I dream about every night when I fall asleep, the part that haunts me, is the ice - the scale of it, the sounds, the million shades of blue. The guides were as enthusiastic about the trip as we were, and very knowledgable. Jessica was amazing in helping us select the right cruise. Your response time is amazing. I would definitely book with Expedition Trips (and Jessica if she's available!) for my next trip.

ExpeditionTrips' travel planners, Jennifer and Amanda, kept me informed of all steps involved, allowing me to learn about, organize, and carry out all necessary preparatons before leaving home. When a question came up, I did not hesitate to ask, and they were always quick to respond. I knew I was off to a good start. The sheer beauty of the Antarctic captured my heart. It is a mysterious place of snow and ice. The icebergs are indescribable, and the opportunity this relatively "small" ship, the National Geographic Explorer, affords is amazing. We could enter channels of ice and cut through slowly, zodiac around icebergs, and get to shores other ships were unable to get to. Searching and finding pods of whales in action was priceless. Penguins marching and nesting was great fun. Level of Service: Superior. Top flight service people on board working hard in a timely, efficient manner. Polite, always smiling and gracious. The unseen making ship life very comfortable. The naturalists were Excellent. Knowledgeable, many with impressive experience in the field and in academic/research positions. They willingly and with good humor imparted information that was fascinating and important to our understanding of the environment. Their lectures and visual presentations were superior - well planned, articulate, and very interesting. The Expedition Leaders were appreciated by all. Their organization and leadership was respected, and well planned, and always imparted with good humor. Thank you!

South Georgia is such an amazing place, so remote, so unique landscape, rich early explore history, and amazing wildlife encounters. The first sight at Salisbury Plain, the king penguin colony, was totally breathtaking, took a while to realize the massive number of penguins. And [we] spent the rest of morning there so enjoyable just watching them. I wish I could spend more days there.

I have become aware just this past year in how terrific it is to work with the agents at ExpeditionTrips.
