Seeing nature in action was one of the most memorable parts of this expedition! Whether it was watching a penguin flip out of the water onto land or marveling at the enormity of an iceberg floating by or hearing the sound of thunder as an iceberg was calving—breathtaking.

We had a fantastic time—the whole thing exceeded my expectations immeasurably! Hard to find the exact words to describe, but safe to say the whole experience was awesome—including all of the help and support that you provided in the planning and preparation phases. The shipping company excelled at their part—the ship, the crew, and of course the Expedition Team.  I’d like to think that the 4 of us made an impression on them also!!

My most memorable moment was how awe-inspiringly beautiful Antarctica was. Seeing those awesome glacial landscapes, penguin colonies, pods of whales and all the other wildlife. There was a great itinerary with two Zodiac and land excursions per day. There were also onboard activities for when we were sailing to the next location. The food was delicious and I got to meet a lot of great people of all ages from all over the world. This was truly a great adventure!!

It was magical, a once in a lifetime trip. It is hard to say what was the best because it all was amazing. The wildlife, the views, the education, the Zodiac trips were unbelievable. The service was incredible, the food was delicious and so varied. It was like 4 stars all the way. The cabin staff was amazing. The naturalists were so knowledgeable and really took time to explain everything and answer all of our questions. They were entertaining and gracious. Jennifer Santoyo made this magical trip possible for me. From our first contact she made my experience smooth and flawless. Her enthusiasm was contagious and her expertise made this trip so easy. I’ll never forget how much she helped me with all the details. Bravo Jennifer!

Our trip was fantastic from start to finish. The scenery was amazing! One really cannot describe it. It was like being on a different planet. The icebergs, glaciers, wildlife, the beautiful skies, polar plunge - all really memorable!

Chris was very knowledgeable about Antarctica. He listened to my needs, what my expectations are from this trip. The questions that he could not answer he said he would find out and got back to me immediately. He was very responsive, great communication skills and had a great attitude. From my first phone call with Chris when I booked the trip to a few weeks before we were ready to leave, I made several phone calls asking for information, and each time he answered our questions to our satisfaction. Chris didn't want to just sell a tour package, he acted as a consultant and advised us, listening to our needs, and advised us as to what would be the best ship and tour for us.

Both Chris and Amanda are excellent. My uncle joined me from India and he couldn't stop praising Amanda and her help with his visa and paperwork. I am so glad I went through ExpeditionTrips. They explained to me exactly what I would experience. We were among the few that knew what to expect. Can't thank them enough.

Antarctica is absolutely stunning and this is a perfect combination of adventure and comfort. For how rugged and far this place is, they did an amazing job at making it approachable and less remote. The expedition leaders were amazing, very conscious of our safety especially when it came to the weather.

If you are the lucky few who get to kayak, I would grab that opportunity. There is nothing like it. It lets you immerse yourself in the environment better than anything else. The wildlife in Antarctica are not used to humans so they were very curious about us, in the Zodiacs and kayaks. They come right up to us and stared at us... amazing opportunities to come very close to the penguins, seals and whales.

Loved the small ship size, and it was just the right number of days to be at sea. Crossing the Circle was a real highlight. Being in such a remote part of the world was an incredibly moving and peaceful experience, and I consider it a privilege to have had the means to do it. The guides were simply outstanding. They went above and beyond and delivered an experience that truly exceeded all of our expectations. They were kind and caring, knowledgeable, helpful, and just overall awesome! I will never forget them.

No matter how many questions I had or how minor they may have been, I received immediate feedback from ExpeditionTrips. I always felt I had a complete grasp on the scope of the expedition we would be undertaking. Kudos especially to Marybeth, who was on the other end of my email questions every step of the way.

Sea kayaking in Antarctica was incredible and gave us the ability to explore in a small quiet group. We had a very close encounter with an orca while kayaking. I have seen pictures of Antarctica but it doesn't compare to the purity and beauty of the experience. The penguins and fur seals in South Georgia, and the albatross colonies in the Falkland islands were amazing. Our trip in January gave us the opportunity to see baby penguins, albatross and seals. I liked the smaller ship atmosphere. We had the opportunity for land or zodiac excursions 2 or 3 times per day when not at sea.

Because of photos I shared of this trip with my running club, we are now raising money for environmental conservation for the amazing continent. Thank you for the inspiration. Everyone says you go for the penguins but you fall in love with the ice, and they are absolutely right. The penguins were funny and photogenic and EVERYWHERE. But the part that I dream about every night when I fall asleep, the part that haunts me, is the ice - the scale of it, the sounds, the million shades of blue. The guides were as enthusiastic about the trip as we were, and very knowledgable. Jessica was amazing in helping us select the right cruise. Your response time is amazing. I would definitely book with Expedition Trips (and Jessica if she's available!) for my next trip.

ExpeditionTrips' travel planners, Jennifer and Amanda, kept me informed of all steps involved, allowing me to learn about, organize, and carry out all necessary preparatons before leaving home. When a question came up, I did not hesitate to ask, and they were always quick to respond. I knew I was off to a good start. The sheer beauty of the Antarctic captured my heart. It is a mysterious place of snow and ice. The icebergs are indescribable, and the opportunity this relatively "small" ship, the National Geographic Explorer, affords is amazing. We could enter channels of ice and cut through slowly, zodiac around icebergs, and get to shores other ships were unable to get to. Searching and finding pods of whales in action was priceless. Penguins marching and nesting was great fun. Level of Service: Superior. Top flight service people on board working hard in a timely, efficient manner. Polite, always smiling and gracious. The unseen making ship life very comfortable. The naturalists were Excellent. Knowledgeable, many with impressive experience in the field and in academic/research positions. They willingly and with good humor imparted information that was fascinating and important to our understanding of the environment. Their lectures and visual presentations were superior - well planned, articulate, and very interesting. The Expedition Leaders were appreciated by all. Their organization and leadership was respected, and well planned, and always imparted with good humor. Thank you!

Outstanding adventure. The highlight was having 2 orcas swim DIRECTLY under my kayak. I think it is important to stress the value of the kayak add on. Kayakers were the first off the ship and the last back on the ship for almost every landing. Usually we were able to kayak and then get to do the shore excursion at the end. Most folks had 1 to 1/1/2 hour excursions. We had 3+ hour excursions. Kayakers went out 7 times during this particular expedition.

Incredible, exceeded my expectations. The views are just incredible, landscapes, icebergs, rock formations, ice formations. Want to see penguins, seals and whales? This is the place. Many species ignore the "rules" and come very close to you, especially if you remain still and do not move. I usually refrain from using the term amazing...it was totally and completely amazing!

Again, staff far exceeded my high expectations. Ship's crew was always helpful and ready to please. Naturalist guides were all first rate, and would have liked to have had them as my teachers in school, extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

This was in the top three of all trips and places I've been of my travels throughout the world. The other two, an independent trip to Ethiopia and a Galapagos Islands excursion. At this time, I can not put one above the other. With your help, this excursion was incrdible. Antarctica is otherworldly, a place beyond belief making this extremely meaningful in all areas, animals, ice, climate, with great naturalists and guest lecturers. Having Peter Hillary on board was incredible and Kip Evans, the National Geographic photographer was so helpful to all of us needing photographic help. Stay as you are [ExpeditionTrips]. It was perfect. Complete with information and a total caring attitude toward me as a customer. Many, many thanks to Jessica and Sarah for all the help in getting me on this most memorable trip. I will definetly use you again to arrange my next trip.

The most memorable parts of my trip: the excitement of each landing; seeing the animals and landscapes of Antarctica with my own eyes; and watching the animals in their own native environment. The expedition team was knowledgeable, experienced, and always willing to answer questions that anyone might have had. They also always tried to make each experience, whether it was a landing or a lecture, the best. Jennifer and Marybeth were both very easy to work with. From the start, I was always kept informed about what paperwork would be needed and I always received it in a timely manner. Any questions that I had throughout the pre-trip process were answered promptly. They helped to make the trip so enjoyable.

Jennifer and Marybeth were awesome! Very patient when I would ask questions that may have seemed silly, or that were answered in our literature. Both women are well prepared to assist clients and were welcoming and warm when corresponding. Both also responded to inquiries within a very short amount of time and I greatly appreciated their expertise and help with both the Antarctic cruise as well as land tours in S. America. I really enjoyed how the expedition crew was able to provide many different type of landings from animal-related, to old whaling posts, to current scientific bases and cruising through ice and icebergs! The Expedition Team lead Anya was amazingly positive the entire cruise. They were all so well educated, friendly and approachable! Everyone always had a smile on their face and I felt like they were a part of the family.

It was the most fantastic trip of my life so far. It is a really nice place to be at least once in your life. The most memorable part was the first time I met with the penguins and saw them pass by just a few meters away. You can't imagine that little thing is so cute and not scared of you at all. With the pure white snow-covered mountain and pure blue ocean as background, everything looks the most clear in your eyes and mind.

When I was still concerning my trip schedule, your consultant, Andie, gave me lots of different options which I could easily pick to match with my annual leave schedule, with reasonable price as well. And also, whenever I had a question, Andie would explain to me in detail, and sometimes raise questions with answers which I wasn't aware. Very considerate!

My trip to Antarctica was unbelievable! Memorable: 1) the wildlife: penguins everywhere, seals on ice, land, and in the water, humpback whales breaching and fluking in a bay; 2) the scenery: bays, mountains, icebergs, and glaciers; 3) the ship's naturalist guides: very knowledgeable, helpful, skilled and professional.

The trip far surpassed my expectations with so many things to see and do. We were also fortunate to have great weather and relatively calm waters. I was very impressed that my voice mail and email questions were answered so quickly. You were very helpful in getting my questions/issues resolved.

The trip was extraordinary. The ship, Sea Adventurer, itself was perfect. The expedition team (guides) and all the staff were extremely kind and enthusiastic. Always trying to make you feel comfortable and special. As we decided this trip only 2-3 weeks prior to departure, our ExpeditionTrips consultants, Jennifer and Marybeth, were extremely fast in obtaining a place for us and organizing eveything. When we contacted ExpeditionTrips, we did not believe that this trip would be possible in our specific dates, and they were able to make it happen.

Seeing a place so remote, so powerful, and so beautiful cannot be described in words. 14,000,000 penguins live there. Wow.

ExpeditionTrips team, Jennifer and others, were so quick to answer our questions and prepare us for this epic journey. So many questions on what we were going into arose, and always we were given complete and caring answers and suggestions.

I highly recommend the kayak package for anyone considering the trip. The quiet and solitude of kayaking versus the zodiac boat excursions was a huge plus for us. Our kayak guides led us to places that other travelers were not able to access. The expedition staff in my opinion made the trip – organized, and very passionate group of leaders that really made it their mission to provide as much hands on experience as weather permitted.

Mr. Ilario and Mr. Rana, both working in the dining room, were alway attentive to my dietary needs! The cabins (ours was a Window with no obstruction) are really big with plenty of room to put away things.

Our trip on the Akademik Ioffe was outstanding. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The trip was extremely well organized. We had several scientists and area specialists on board that provided presentations, and the guides were all knowledgeable and went out of their way to ensure our expectations were met. The tour/trip director was exceptional and always met us at our excursion destinations to welcome us and give us a short briefing. We were very happy with the meals and ship accommodations. The sites were so beautiful. The wildlife, icebergs, sunrises and sunsets are something we will never forget. My husband kayaked during most of the excursions so we had some different perspectives to compare. Overnight camping and a polar plunge were an added plus! This was definitely a trip of a lifetime.

Your customer service is the best. As was my third trip with ExpeditionTrips, I can say Jessica has always exceeded my expectations. I am looking forward to planning another trip in the near future; she makes the experience fun and worry free! Expectations were high as this was my second trip to Antarctica on the Ocean Diamond and I was not disappointed. We actually experienced a challenging Drake Passage crossing but I was never concerned about the ability of the Ocean Diamond to handle the seas. The expedition team members as well as the hotel staff provided excellent service! Surpassed our expectations from start to finish. The pre-trip communications from ExpeditionTrips was excellent. All questions were promptly answered even after we signed the contract. Communication continued up until we started the journey. Expectations were properly set. You can take a number of ships to Antarctica but the key is the boat. We choose to go on a small boat (100 people) and one that was more luxurious. It was the right decision for us. The room was quite large for a boat. The guides were first class. Our geologist was so enthusiastic about rocks that he made all of us excited by them too. Everything was well orchestrated.

It was a WOW experience, the trip of a lifetime. After traveling all 7 continents, we can truthfully say that ExpeditionTrips staff by far surpassed all the other trips' professionals. They were very responive to our questions, and got back to us quickly. Their tips for layering, packing, restaurants just added to the enjoyment. There were so many special moments on our 4-destination trip. Buenos Aires was a surprise, such beautiful architecture, memorable restaurants, and lots to do. We left with so much more to explore. Iguazu Falls was magnificent. We took the speedboat into the Falls and got a up front view. The scenes of the Falls from the Brasilian side are not to be missed, worth getting the extra visa. We walked miles on the Argentinia Side and got great pictures from bridges, really close up. We found Ushuaia to be a quaint seaside town, at the end of the world. It offered many excursions worth taking the extra time to experience. The 4-wheel drive into the lake region was very interesting. We boarded the Sea Spirit for our expedition to Antarctica Peninsula. Words cannot describe how wonderful the whole trip was. Even the Captain was astonished about the weather, and how many continental landings we could exerience. At some points Drake Passage was re-named Drake Lake.

The friendliness, professionalism and knowledge of the crew was very appreciated. They made the adventure that much more special and personalized. The ship photographer took time for each passenger to ensure we got the best pictures possible. Those photos of penguins, whales, glaciers, seals will remind us of the trip of our lifetime.

My trip to Antarctica was the most educational and adventure-filled trip of all the seven continents I have visited. Each of my trips was unique, but there is nothing that compared to Antarctica! The guides were phenomenal. They knew their topics and educated us with multimedia presentations that were authentic, relevant and engaging. I was a solo traveler and was made to feel welcomed and included in all aspects of the trip.

Excellent! Truly a trip of a life-time! Efficient, friendly, very fun, extremely competent expedition team, very interesting lectures, they tried their best to accomplish the goals/adventures they would set for the day... Fabulous!! I don't know the adjectives to describe myt wonderful experiences. Spending a beautiful, sunny day moving through the Lemaire Channel between icebergs and through chunks of sea ice accompanied by a variety of sea birds, penguins, seals and whales. In the afternoon we enjoyed ice cream sundaes on the back deck. A rare and lovely day in Antarctica!

With this trip and the previous trip planned through Expedition Trips, I encountered unusual and expected obstacles. Jessica and Amanda went to work immediately to help me successfully overcome those obstacles.

The trip was wonderful. Be prepared to feel you are on another planet. The small ship size lets you become very friendly with many folks.

The planning part and the steps leading up to the trip were excellent. In fact, Jessica was great the whole time, but the step above is when there was an issue with the boats departure. She contacted me [even before the tour operator] on the ground did, so I knew before many others about the delay. She provided me with options and offered further assistance.

Great! The most memorable parts were: a two day tour of Iguazu Falls in one day; seeing King penguins on Catamaran trip in the Beagle Channel; sailing through Lemaire Channel both directions, on one beautifully sunny day and on one where our captain had to carefully navigate through the ice; camping on the snow with penguins for neighbors; climbing the hill at Paradise Cove in the snow and sliding back down; Zodiac cruising among icebergs; following humpback whales in the Zodiac and getting farther and farther away from the ship; seeing seals lounging on the ice; landing at Cape Horn; cruising Glacier Alley and being served food appropriate to each country for which the glaciers were named.

My trip was life changing!!! It's very hard to find the right words. This space, relatively untouched by man's destructive hands, is just AWESOME. Looking over the landscape at each iceberg, glacier, penguin, seal, whale, etc., took my breath away. Being blessed with this view, for 10 days, was humbling. And walking on Antarctica, there are no words to describe that. PLEASE make this trip a must. It's not cheap but WORTH EVERY CENT!!

The staff and crew earned a superior rating. Each of them addressed me by name, and the other 185 passengers. Our safety was their number one priority. They drove those zodiacs with such skill. I was very nervous, never being in a zodiac before. But they just got us through those icy waters with ease. The lectures and the information provided on and off the ship was invaluable. As a teacher, they have given me enough information for the last 20 weeks of school. I thank them on behalf of the Chicago Public Schools.

They had several experts on board (geologist, bird experts, mammal experts, historians) who gave lectures regarding the rock formations that we would see, the types of sea animals and birds we would see, history of the early exploration of Antarctica.

Our experience with ExpeditionTrips was a very positive one. They let us know every piece of equipment we needed and also all documentation and made sure all our travel pieces were scheduled and accounted for. They answered every silly question we had without making us feel foolish. The longer I am home the more I miss Antarctica and wish to see it again. The trip was way beyond my expectations. I discovered I really knew very little about what Antarctica looked like. It was much more "alive" (teeming with life) than I expected. I especially appreciated the guides for all their hard work and making everything come alive on the zodiac cruises. I also appreciated how they went out of their way to make us feel safe on the zodiacs (they were a little bit intimidating and scary for me) and took everyone's concerns into consideration. The zodiac cruises ended up being my favorite part.

Thanks, my trip to Antarctica is one I will never forget. The expedition staff's professionalism and enthusiasm is unquestionable. Very comfortable boat. Catering staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Cabin staff are efficient and discreet. Expedition team are very enthusiastic and are always happy to give of their time. The lectures have all been well timed and interesting - we even stayed awake! All in all, we have been planning this trip for a year and we have not been disappointed, even though our expectations were high. Bravo to everybody involved in making wishes come true, especially ours. We have lots of happy memories to take home.

Antarctica was all that I had expected & more - from a memorable crossing of the Drake Passage, experiencing the surreal atmosphere, to leaving by plane from King George Island! The expedition team was great - amazingly knowledgeable & seemingly tireless with the many hats they wore! Answering questions - big or small - was definitely a strong point of working with ExpeditionTrips - nothing was too silly!  I would find it a pleasure to work with them again! Definitely a 10!

My father was on Admiral Byrd's last expedition in 55-56 at McMurdo and I remember Dad's stories about Antarctica.  I always wanted to see it and I got to bring my 22 year old son.  The most memorable part was an evening in a protected cove with pan ice when we got surrounded by humpback and orca whales. The whole ship was silent except for the clicking of cameras; the moon and sun were both visible in the pastels of dusk.   The ship's crew was very helpful and accommodating.  I have an anaphylactic egg allergy and my friend was vegan. We had all of needs met and felt very well fed.

Yes, I would book again with Expedition Trips and have already recommended you to friends. The smaller things - such as the email received from Beth pre trip to wish us a fantastic time, all added up to a professional outfit. All in all, it's hard to say what was the most memorable part. Could it be the beautiful burnt orange sunset seen whilst sailing through the Lemaire channel with glassy waters around us, prompting an exodus of fellow travelers from the dining room to stand shoulder to shoulder on deck to admire the fantastic scenery in stunned silence? Or maybe the dozen or so Orca whales with their young that joined us at the ship's bow on the last night in the Antarctica Peninsula - as a little reminder of the nature we would soon be leaving behind?...

Jessica and Amanda were super. There was not an unanswered question - they were fun, engaging, and professional.  As someone who appreciates 'organized and attention to detail' they met and exceeded my expectations.  They were very prompt in responding to questions or concerns. As someone who has traveled a bit - I was highly impressed with their ability to truly listen to my ideas and wishes and identify a trip that 'worked' for me. I quickly ruled out a number of competitors who were trying to 'sell' me a trip - Jessica matched my wishes to a trip! Our expectations were met and exceeded. The expedition staff was so knowledgeable, everything so well coordinated.... We were impressed with their 'love' and 'passion' for their work, the continent and interest in sharing what they know. There were so many memorable moments - we kayaked, we camped...we saw glaciers calve, leopard seals 'smile' at us...there are no words or pictures that can capture how incredible the continent, wildlife, glaciers and icebergs are.

The Antarctic trip was magical! I’ve traveled over six continents, stayed in the world’s most prestigious hotels, and had wonderful adventures but the Antarctica trip is top of the list. The solitary grandeur and beauty of the land, the charm of its wildlife, the comfort and luxury of the ship, the great lectures and perhaps, most of all, the kindness, helpfulness, and genuine enthusiasm of the crew made this my favorite trip ever! I've just had a trip of a lifetime to Antarctica with your staff and crew. I have backpacked around the world and was a bit nervous about booking an organised trip...however clearly I chose the best company because my voyage was like travelling with old friends. Everything was amazing. Don and the team were outstanding, devoted, passionate, informative, caring, exciting... and all the ing positive words you can think of!!! Don knew how to seize every opportunity that Antarctica gave us including cruising with 4 Orca whales aboard our zodiacs for two hours! He is truly an inspirational educator. The staff all communicated an infallible respect for the pristine nature of Antarctica and its breathtaking wildlife and I feel comfortable that our tour of the peninsula was responsible. Alan taught me more about wildlife than I have learned in my life. Jo and Brendan took care of my dietary restrictions better than my own mother and their meals were nutritious and delicious! The Russian crew worked tirelessly and were so friendly and eager to teach us about nautical aspects of expedition cruising. In short, I worship the ground you all walk on and could not have planned a better trip myself. Than you for a trip that exceeded my wildest dreams and has changed my life!

This was the best trip we have ever taken. The whole experience was magical…I especially appreciated the pains the lecturers and naturalists took in explaining why the Antarctic is so important and why we should keep it pristine and safe from exploitation (vested interest here – I’m a biologist.) …Our parkas with Antarctic patches have been the envy of all who have seen them. It’s finally too warm to wear them—damn—but as soon as the weather turns in the fall we’ll be sporting them and bragging about the wonderful voyage you folks engineered…

We worked with Joy and found her extremely helpful. She was very responsive to our many questions and we would book with ExpeditionTrips again. The staff, guides and crew onboard the Corinthian II were excellent. Their presentations on the ship and their guide work onshore were outstanding.

Working with ExpeditionTrips was great! This was the second major trip we have booked with Joy, and we would recommend her to everyone and we have. We try to combine a week or two of private travel with a ship trip and she does a great job and provides a smooth transition with the shipping company.

The trip went far above my expectations. I was blown away! The crew was the hardest working set of people I have seen in years. The naturalists and guides on the trip were obviously experienced in their ability to inform us of what we were going to see, etc.

I have no complaints with ExpeditionTrips and I might well book with you again. The staff, guides and crew provided service way beyond what I had expected. The lectures were great, and all those speaking were so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. They went out of their way so that we could visit two other rookeries on the Peninsula.

We loved working with ExpeditionTrips. You were very responsive, especially with the last minute panicky questions. If you had a trip we were interested in, we would book with you without hesitation. The service on the ship was very good to excellent. John was truly superb and is a gem. The other naturalist staff were of high quality!

My experience was very positive. The organization on the ship was great in getting us on and off the zodiacs in such great speed, always having a zodiac available if someone wanted to go back to the ship early and always having a back-up plan if the first was not available. I just have fabulous things to say about the entire experience!

Joy at ExpeditionTrips was very responsive, professional, and helpful. I usually don't like to book anything through travel agents, but I found this experience to be wonderful. I would definitely use ExpeditionTrips again in the future. This was one of the best trips I've ever taken in my life (which says a lot since I've been just about everywhere) and it surpassed my expectations.

Our experience working with ExpeditionTrips was positive. The naturalist guides knew their subject matter and were anxious to share what they knew. They were enthusiastic and conveyed their enthusiasm to the passengers. The ship's crew was willing to let the passengers on the bridge at all times and shared details on navigating the ice filled waters.

ExpeditionTrips was extremely helpful with their information and advice in finding the type of trip that would meet my needs. Apart from the personalized attention and follow-up on all needed details to secure a good trip, the thing that I liked most about ExpeditionTrips is the added value of, in the initial planning stage, helping me figure out what I really wanted from my trip to Antarctica and providing me with a lot of information on what’s out there, what options there are, etc. This approach of being a “free consultant” at the beginning was key to making a good choice.
