Our trip was absolutely incredible. We feel very lucky to have had such an amazing experience. Words can't describe how beautiful it is down there! It's hard to pinpoint a highlight because it was all unlike anything we had done before. I think seeing icebergs, watching the curious Gentoo penguins running around, spotting 4 or 5 species of whales, and just having a completely different adventure every day were all highlights.

We had some incredibly close interactions with humpback whales while we were in our zodiacs that were amazing and unforgettable. Also, in mid-to-late February, the penguin chicks were old enough to be left alone by their parents. They were extremely curious and interactive. Nearly everyone who wanted an up-close and personal experience got a visit from a chick who wanted to peck at their pants, backpack or trekking pole! (All done within the rules to ensure the safety of chicks and guests!)

Amazing having the naturalists on board, walking with the penguins, the lectures, witnessing small avalanches, and watching the ship cut through the ice. The level of service that the staff and naturalist guides delivered during the trip was excellent - beyond compare to any other cruise I've been on. Trip planning with ExpeditionTrips is mindless for the consumer. Everything was organized, timely, and easy to navigate.

The most memorable parts of our trip were getting so close to the whales and penguins, and sailing past giant icebergs. The level of service during the trip was a 10/10. All the staff were amazing. Especially enjoyed Antarctic Peninsula...beautiful mountains, bays, bergs and wildlife. Some unforgettable encounters with humpback whales while we were in the Zodiacs. Ship crew and staff were outstanding--very hardworking, efficient, and always good-natured. Guides were enthusiastic and well grounded in their topics-- Justine (historian), Dany (whales), Jean, Annie, and Kit were especially capable. Ben the guest service coordinator was very good as well. Enjoyed all their presentations.

Everything about this trip exceeded our expectations. The animals, the animals, the animals! It was a privilege to walk among them. Also, a pretty small group of like minded travelers provided for great table talk, shared experiences, and new friendships - some that will last a lifetime. I would not trade a day of it, even those just at sea. Don't miss South Georgia Island!!! We have no idea how they did it, but the staff of Hebridean Sky was first rate in every way. Superb food and service. The staff has been trained to give personal service and many of them took time to learn our names and preferences. The guides are AMAZING, very dedicated to the area, very knowledgeable, and very determined to give you the experience of a lifetime. Every one of them blew us away.

All of our many questions were answered promptly by ExpeditionTrips. As a third person joining two others on the expedition months after they signed up, you worked quickly to get me on the same tour. Two Zodiac cruises stand out. The first was a Zodiac cruise through icebergs of all shapes and sizes. Many had seals or penguins resting on them. The ice was an incredible blue. The second most memorable part was another Zodiac cruise at dusk to see Humpback whales feeding on krill. They were tumbling through the water and showing us their tails. During that expedition, the cruise director, and several of the crew met us out in the bay with their own Zodiac outfitted with hot chocolate and optional Baileys. What a treat! The level of service was superb. The crew on the ship was so eager to please and make us feel welcome. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed touring with them in the Zodiacs, having meals with them, and attending their lectures. Can't believe how accomplished they all were. We felt privileged to be in their company.

Jennifer and Sarah were responsive, knowledgeable and professional. Jennifer was able to assist in weeding through all the expedition companies and routes to provide what we were looking for. She also had kayaked in Antarctica and had recommended it — so glad we did. Highlight of the trip. And their patience and quick response to our myriad of questions. Very thankful for their help. Epic. From incredible scenery with snow capped mountains, a menagerie of icebergs of immense proportions and shapes; Minke whales checking us out in the zodiacs as we checked them out, kayaking as penguins porpoised by us, the tranquility; humpback whales diving under our kayaks as gentle giants and appearing on the other side; the ship's crew and it's captain Oleg; incredible meals and waitstaff; expedition staff: their knowledge, professionalism and sharing the same pure enthusiasm of seeing the seals, whales, masses of penguins, sites. Excellent. Kayaking guides were professional and experienced. Getting us on the water whenever safely possible.

I chose this trip because I wanted to see half a million penguins on South Georgia Island. One really could not believe the sight. But what really surprised me was the beauty of the landscape once we reached the Antarctic Peninsula. They say, "Your first trip to Antarctica is to see the penguins; the second trip is for the ice." This couldn't be more true! I had high expectations. I had waited years for the opportunity to go to the 7th continent, done my research and was prepared for a trip of a lifetime. My expectations were exceeded in every way. The scenery and wildlife were more amazing in person than anything I had seen in pictures. I have traveled on other expedition ships and the Ocean Diamond was the best to date. I don't think you could find a finer Expedition Team starting with the Team Leader, the guides and support staff. Many of the Expedition Guides held PhD's, were research scientists, authors and adventure specialists. Very impressive group!

The Falkland Islands and South Georgia were such a fantastic surprise. The wildlife viewing was phenomenal in both places, and the islands are so beautiful. Anyone going to Antarctica without visiting these other gems would be missing out on a huge opportunity. This trip lived up to my very high expectations. All of the ship's crew provided excellent service. The naturalist guides really make it a special trip. Most memorable was the sea kayaking program. It made a huge difference to have nine amazing two-hour outings close to the water, ice floes, seals, and penguins -- really unique, serene, and memorable. I would spend hours on deck just staring at the incredible landscapes. Prepare for frequent changes to the schedule due to weather and ice conditions, and don't get frustrated by them -- it's all part of the experience. Incredible (and plentiful) food -- way better than I was expecting. Five-star service from the crew and staff made for a memorable trip. Our comfort and safety could not have been looked after better, whether on-board or on excursions. I appreciated the little touches like hot chocolate after excursions and chocolates on pillows. ExpeditionTrips kept us informed every step of the way up to departure, and were responsive to any questions.

Of course a trip to Antarctica is going to be, literally, wondrous. But what made it really special was the expedition staff. Every last one of them was great -- knowledgeable, personable, and fun. Just great people. I had not known about Zegrahm at all -- never heard of them. When I told Alison Ashton what I was thinking about, she introduced me to them. I’m so glad she did! Furthermore, she did not push them on me. She simply told me about them as another trip to consider. I greatly appreciated that.

I was planning to do the Antarctica peninsula only, but it was recommended to me to include Falkland Islands and South Georgia, and I’m so glad I did! I’ve traveled fairly extensively, and this had to be one of the best, if not the best, trip I’ve ever taken. The variety and quantity of penguins, seals, whales and birds was astounding. MS Fram was higher quality than I was expecting. Dinners were either buffet or sit down and were always 5 courses. Because of our planners I know we were in the best cabin on the ship (note that it was NOT the most expensive cabin, it was actually one of the cheapest, but they know the ins and outs of these ships! (thank goodness for us!). Loved the expedition type cruise and it was so special to travel with approx 250 passengers because you actually get to know people! DONT wait until you retire... this is not that trip. You need to have stamina to go on 2 excursions a day and run out of your cabin when the captain or the naturalists see Dolphins, Orcas Killer Whales or the iceberg B15 - the one that is the size of Jamaica that has been traveling around for the last 17 years! (all of these happened and we were thrilled!)

If you like wildlife, the largest and second largest king penguin colonies in the world on South Georgia are an unparalleled sight to behold.

If you like the history of the golden age of exploration, a pilgrimage to Shackleton's final resting place in Grytviken is a must and, weather permitting, you may follow his footsteps along the final leg of his epic journey across South Georgia with a hike from Fortuna Bay to Stromness.

If you like being active in the outdoors, it's an unforgettable experience to kayak through sea ice, among icebergs (at a safe distance, of course), and have tranquil, sea-level viewing encounters with penguins as the porpoise by you.

No words or pictures can tell you or anyone how truly amazing this vacation was. We made every single landing on Zodiac except for the last one in S.Georgia. This is apparently a rare thing to make as many landings as we did.

Of course South Georgia was my paradise considering my love for penguins, especially the king penguin. It was stunning, overwhelming and truly rivals the Serengeti as the most amazing place on earth for animal viewing in their natural habitat.

Antarctica blew me away more so than I expected. The icebergs and being so close to them was memorable.

The penguins and fur seals in South Georgia, and the albatross colonies in the Falkland islands were amazing. Our trip in January gave us the opportunity to see baby penguins, albatross and seals. Because of photos I shared of this trip with my running club, we are now raising money for environmental conservation for the amazing continent. Thank you for the inspiration. Everyone says you go for the penguins but you fall in love with the ice, and they are absolutely right. The penguins were funny and photogenic and EVERYWHERE. But the part that I dream about every night when I fall asleep, the part that haunts me, is the ice - the scale of it, the sounds, the million shades of blue. The guides were as enthusiastic about the trip as we were, and very knowledgable. Jessica was amazing in helping us select the right cruise. Your response time is amazing. I would definitely book with Expedition Trips (and Jessica if she's available!) for my next trip.

ExpeditionTrips' travel planners, Jennifer and Amanda, kept me informed of all steps involved, allowing me to learn about, organize, and carry out all necessary preparatons before leaving home. When a question came up, I did not hesitate to ask, and they were always quick to respond. I knew I was off to a good start. The sheer beauty of the Antarctic captured my heart. It is a mysterious place of snow and ice. The icebergs are indescribable, and the opportunity this relatively "small" ship, the National Geographic Explorer, affords is amazing. We could enter channels of ice and cut through slowly, zodiac around icebergs, and get to shores other ships were unable to get to. Searching and finding pods of whales in action was priceless. Penguins marching and nesting was great fun. Level of Service: Superior. Top flight service people on board working hard in a timely, efficient manner. Polite, always smiling and gracious. The unseen making ship life very comfortable. The naturalists were Excellent. Knowledgeable, many with impressive experience in the field and in academic/research positions. They willingly and with good humor imparted information that was fascinating and important to our understanding of the environment. Their lectures and visual presentations were superior - well planned, articulate, and very interesting. The Expedition Leaders were appreciated by all. Their organization and leadership was respected, and well planned, and always imparted with good humor. Thank you!

What were the most memorable parts of this expeditions? It's Antarctica...how do you pick one thing? Let me give it a shot: (a) The guided hikes to see penguin rookeries and albatross nests. (b) The captain threading the ship between two icebergs in Lemaire channel – it caused several of us to hold our breaths. (c) Visiting the Argentines at Orcadas Station, S. Orkney Islands. (d) Having the opportunity to talk to the expedition guides over a beer on the ship. (e) Seeing an Andean condor UP CLOSE and PERSONAL 20 feet in front of the car, near El Chalten.

Jennifer Santoyo of ExpeditionTrips was very responsive. We were blessed with excellent weather and had gorgeous sightings of wildlife and their young (penguins with their chicks and eggs and elephant and fur seals with their cubs) as well as whales (orcas, humpbacks, southern right and fin whales). The Captain of ship and crew worked closely with expedition naturalists especially on whale sightings and gave plenty of time for photos and videos while respecting wildlife. That was great. Very professional and obliging and friendly, especially attentive to our 11 year old son. Polite housekeeping and service staff made living on board very easy and comfortable. We were prepared for a rough Drake Passage, but was not as bad. Weather was excellent and we managed to do all but 1 of the planned landings. Achieved aims of seeing wildlife with their young closeup as well as the magnificent orcas and whales. So all in all a great adventure!

Keep up the great work in making trips of a lifetime really enjoyable and memorable for travelers. I had an amazing trip to South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula. South Georgia was wonderful with so much wildlife and the possibility to see them up close. To see about 200,000 king penguins in one landing was spectacular. I loved seeing all the fur seals, so cute, and the elephant seals, were very entertaining. The landscape was stunning and one 3 hour hike was a highlight as the weather was perfectly sunny and warm. The Antarctic Peninsula was wonderful: the unusual landscape, colors in various lights, icebergs of various shapes, and whale watching up close in the zodiac.

I thought the trip was incredible, had a great time & enjoyed every minute. Our expedition leader Don was very good; he was knowledgeable, flexible & realistic in describing what we might expect from plans & timetables etc. I thought that he always had the interests of the group at the forefront of his thinking about where we went next. When the conditions looked changeable or challenging he was always ready with a workable alternative. Our landings on South Georgia were all interesting & varied in terms of history, geography & wildlife - we packed in as much as possible - 10 landings/zodiacs in 4 days. The food served by Brendan & Jo was good, hearty food, quite an intelligent & non-repetitive set of menus; I thoroughly looked forward to meal times each day. Your staff worked tirelessly, were very personable & were always ready to help the passengers & assist with a smile. Alan the naturalist was very knowledgeable & seemed to be everywhere spotting wildlife and Dave the historian was an absolute gem, what a life he's led, a true story teller. Finally the captain & crew were all exceptional & made everything happen seamlessly. What sounds like a high price for a trip, is in fact good value when you look at what goes into it. What's more, the trip attracted a great bunch of people & has provided me with some wonderful memories for years to come.

I was, personally, very pleased we booked with ExpeditionTrips. I think we were very fortunate (make that “extremely lucky”) to have found them and used them for our trip to Antarctica. I would use them again because I trust them – their staff has a wealth of knowledge. Everything was memorable/life changing in many ways. Just being “there” and experiencing it – the remoteness, wildlife, beauty of everything. Staff, guides and crew seemed well versed in everything. I think they all had everything under control and were very reliable and knowledgeable.

To be honest, I was quite apprehensive before starting this trip. I travel a lot, always independently, and I was hesitant to embark on an organized trip for 19 days. Fortunately, I found out that there were very friendly, interesting people among the passengers; on top of that, I found that the staff was truly great and open towards us, the passengers. Furthermore, the operation worked very well. So, it far exceeded my expectations.

One of the most special moments was our visit to the king penguin colony at Salisbury plain - it was an overwhelming, touching experience. It was a pleasure working with ExpeditionTrips. And yes, if I was considering a similar trip, I would definitely book with ET again!

I originally booked with ExpeditionTrips because you were quick to answer an email and gave accurate and useful information (and didn’t just send me another brochure). I found exactly what I expected to find when I arrived in Ushuaia and on the boat. It wasn't a trip with a personal butler (as I've seen other boats advertise!) but it was a 'me' trip.
