Founded in the 16th century, the city of Recife stands on Brazil’s North-East Coast. The historical center boasts elegant pastel-colored mansions with stucco facades that stand out from the city backdrop. Embark the ship in the afternoon.

Located on the Amazon Delta, the historical city of Belém stretches along the Bay of Guajará, at the northernmost tip of Brazil. Its lively waterfront is home to the century-old Ver-o-Peso market and its iconic turreted iron structure, the Mercado de Ferro. Nearby, mango tree-shaded streets lead to the neoclassic Da Paz Theatre, the baroque cathedral of Sé, and Presépio Fort, whose battlements look out over the old town and the bay.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados, is located on the island’s South-West Coast. Its historic quarters are listed UNESCO world heritage sites and are prime examples of British colonial architecture, which you can view between the postcard-perfect fishing harbor and St Ann’s Fort. Streets shaded by palms and flamboyant trees lead you to the Anglican cathedral church of St Michael, built from coral stone, the Barbados Museum and George Washington House, a Georgian-style mansion. There will be plenty of time to relax on the Caribbean beaches of Carlisle Bay, a few paces from the old town center.
