Day 1
Sitka / Hoonah Sound

Explore beautiful Sitka, the only community in Southeast Alaska that faces the open ocean waters of the Gulf of Alaska. Visit fascinating sites that highlight the community’s rich Alaska Native and Russian history. Embark for the winding narrows north of town while searching for sea otters, bears, whales, and other wildlife. Anchor for the evening in Hoonah Sound, a protected body of water in Peril Strait.

Day 2
Eastern Baranof Island

Navigate the remote eastern coast of Baranof Island. This region includes many intimate coves and inlets, making it ideal for exploration. Opportunities include Hidden Falls, Takatz Bay, and Cosmos Cove.

Day 3
Tenakee Inlet

Enjoy kayak and DIB adventures in Tenakee Inlet. Stretch your legs as you beach comb or hike along the beautiful remote coastlines of the area.

Day 4
Icy Strait / Port Frederick

Ply the waters of Icy Strait, an area known by locals for incredible humpback whale viewing. Later, relish the serenity of Port Frederick.

Day 5
Taku Inlet

Awake to a thrilling morning hovercraft flight, where you’ll soar over the shallow waters and shifting sandbars of Taku Inlet en route to the Taku Glacier, the largest glacier flowing from the Juneau Icefield. Afterwards, explore the wildlife-rich waters of Stephen’s Passage.

Day 6
Tracy Arm

Journey through Tracy Arm Fjord, an area the famous naturalist John Muir referred to as, “A wild, unfinished Yosemite.” This glacial fjord is renowned for its pristine waterfalls, towering icebergs, abundant harbor seals, and granite cliffs that rise from sea level to 4,000 feet. At 32-miles long and averaging just a mile wide, the unique features of Tracy Arm are contained in a relatively small geographical space, adding to the dramatic beauty of the area. As ice conditions permit, we’ll navigate the entire length of the fjord, stopping in view of both the Sawyer and South Sawyer Glaciers. Experience the inspiring feeling of kayaking among towering icebergs in the fjord.

Day 7
Frederick Sound

View entertaining Steller sea lions on their haul-out on Brothers Island while scouting for humpback whales in the world-renowned whale waters of Frederick Sound. Experience the thrill of viewing wildlife from the DIB. End the day in a remote, wilderness bay for kayaking, a relaxing beach fire, and a king crab feast. Options include Windham Bay, Hobart Bay, or Port Houghton.

Day 8
Juneau / Disembark

Disembark in Alaska’s capital city of Juneau. Transfer to the airport or your hotel is complimentary.

Day 1: Juneau – Embarkation: Spend the morning visiting highlights of the scenic capital of Juneau, including the world famous Mendenhall Glacier. In downtown Juneau, visit the newly renovated Alaska State Museum. There may also be time to explore the historic downtown area on your own; Day 2: Frederick Sound; Day 3: Tracy Arm Fjord; Day 4: Taku Inlet; Day 5: Icy Strait & Port Frederick; Day 6: Tenakee Inlet; Day 7: Eastern Baranof Island; Day 8: Sitka – Disembarkation: Transfer to the airport or your hotel is complimentary.
