Take an Antarctic Cruise from November to February

Since the tourism season for Antarctica is only four months long it is important to plan your Antarctic cruise during somewhere between November and February. The rest of year the environment is extremely, brutally cold, as cold as 50 degrees below. It is also dark or almost dark most of the time. In November it is considered early summer, with the birds courting and mating. In December and January the baby penguins are hatching and the weather changes to warmer temperatures with as much as 20 hours of sunlight every day. February is considered late summer, where whale sightings are most abundant and baby chicks are beginning to leave their mothers. There is less ice during the late summer as well, so Antarctic cruise ships are less booked up as they are earlier in the tourist season.
