I have to admit that your service and positive energy was the reason I went with ExpeditionsTrips. I inquired about travel to Antarctica about 10 years ago and the continuous (but not over the top) reminders from your company were appreciated. When the time came where the trip could become a reality, I naturally reached out to ExpeditionTrips. Also note that I was in contact with my travel agent and another company, but their service and positive nature paled in comparison.

I absolutely loved the trip to Antarctica. I thought the expedition team was wonderful and I really appreciated all the lectures and information we were given. We were very lucky to see almost everything we wanted to see... It was all new to me. I loved the sub-Antarctic Islands, the scale of  Antarctica, the colour palette. The highlight were the huts of course!

It was the most fantastic trip of my life so far. It is a really nice place to be at least once in your life. The most memorable part was the first time I met with the penguins and saw them pass by just a few meters away. You can't imagine that little thing is so cute and not scared of you at all. With the pure white snow-covered mountain and pure blue ocean as background, everything looks the most clear in your eyes and mind.

When I was still concerning my trip schedule, your consultant, Andie, gave me lots of different options which I could easily pick to match with my annual leave schedule, with reasonable price as well. And also, whenever I had a question, Andie would explain to me in detail, and sometimes raise questions with answers which I wasn't aware. Very considerate!

My trip to Antarctica was unbelievable! Memorable: 1) the wildlife: penguins everywhere, seals on ice, land, and in the water, humpback whales breaching and fluking in a bay; 2) the scenery: bays, mountains, icebergs, and glaciers; 3) the ship's naturalist guides: very knowledgeable, helpful, skilled and professional.

The trip far surpassed my expectations with so many things to see and do. We were also fortunate to have great weather and relatively calm waters. I was very impressed that my voice mail and email questions were answered so quickly. You were very helpful in getting my questions/issues resolved.

The trip was extraordinary. The ship, Sea Adventurer, itself was perfect. The expedition team (guides) and all the staff were extremely kind and enthusiastic. Always trying to make you feel comfortable and special. As we decided this trip only 2-3 weeks prior to departure, our ExpeditionTrips consultants, Jennifer and Marybeth, were extremely fast in obtaining a place for us and organizing eveything. When we contacted ExpeditionTrips, we did not believe that this trip would be possible in our specific dates, and they were able to make it happen.

Seeing a place so remote, so powerful, and so beautiful cannot be described in words. 14,000,000 penguins live there. Wow.

ExpeditionTrips team, Jennifer and others, were so quick to answer our questions and prepare us for this epic journey. So many questions on what we were going into arose, and always we were given complete and caring answers and suggestions.

I highly recommend the kayak package for anyone considering the trip. The quiet and solitude of kayaking versus the zodiac boat excursions was a huge plus for us. Our kayak guides led us to places that other travelers were not able to access. The expedition staff in my opinion made the trip – organized, and very passionate group of leaders that really made it their mission to provide as much hands on experience as weather permitted.

The recommendations that ExpeditionTrips gave to us were perfect! Thank you.

Shane, the Expedition Leader, did everything he could to give us the best trip ever, taking advantage of every minute to learn something new or visit the different spots of the Antarctica. The naturalist guides did a superb job sharing their knowledge with us.

Mr. Ilario and Mr. Rana, both working in the dining room, were alway attentive to my dietary needs! The cabins (ours was a Window with no obstruction) are really big with plenty of room to put away things.

Our trip on the Akademik Ioffe was outstanding. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The trip was extremely well organized. We had several scientists and area specialists on board that provided presentations, and the guides were all knowledgeable and went out of their way to ensure our expectations were met. The tour/trip director was exceptional and always met us at our excursion destinations to welcome us and give us a short briefing. We were very happy with the meals and ship accommodations. The sites were so beautiful. The wildlife, icebergs, sunrises and sunsets are something we will never forget. My husband kayaked during most of the excursions so we had some different perspectives to compare. Overnight camping and a polar plunge were an added plus! This was definitely a trip of a lifetime.

Your customer service is the best. As was my third trip with ExpeditionTrips, I can say Jessica has always exceeded my expectations. I am looking forward to planning another trip in the near future; she makes the experience fun and worry free! Expectations were high as this was my second trip to Antarctica on the Ocean Diamond and I was not disappointed. We actually experienced a challenging Drake Passage crossing but I was never concerned about the ability of the Ocean Diamond to handle the seas. The expedition team members as well as the hotel staff provided excellent service! The changing landscape provided new sites and experiences; the weather was fantastic and we saw wildlife on every outing as well as amazing ice.

Top rate all the way! Your personal phone calls as well as quick responses to emails alleviated many questions and concerns. Much more adventure, on board activity, education, and FUN than I ever could have imagined. Two landings a day with daily wrap up reviews followed by fun-filled crew with passenger games and talent-sharing before bed. In between, fine eating! I even slept on Antarctica at a camp site we set up with a seal just a few yards away, penguin rookeries all around, with the rumbling sound of glacier calvings multiple times throughout the night.

Surpassed our expectations from start to finish. The pre-trip communications from ExpeditionTrips was excellent. All questions were promptly answered even after we signed the contract. Communication continued up until we started the journey. Expectations were properly set. You can take a number of ships to Antarctica but the key is the boat. We choose to go on a small boat (100 people) and one that was more luxurious. It was the right decision for us. The room was quite large for a boat. The guides were first class. Our geologist was so enthusiastic about rocks that he made all of us excited by them too. Everything was well orchestrated.

It was a WOW experience, the trip of a lifetime. After traveling all 7 continents, we can truthfully say that ExpeditionTrips staff by far surpassed all the other trips' professionals. They were very responive to our questions, and got back to us quickly. Their tips for layering, packing, restaurants just added to the enjoyment. There were so many special moments on our 4-destination trip. Buenos Aires was a surprise, such beautiful architecture, memorable restaurants, and lots to do. We left with so much more to explore. Iguazu Falls was magnificent. We took the speedboat into the Falls and got a up front view. The scenes of the Falls from the Brasilian side are not to be missed, worth getting the extra visa. We walked miles on the Argentinia Side and got great pictures from bridges, really close up. We found Ushuaia to be a quaint seaside town, at the end of the world. It offered many excursions worth taking the extra time to experience. The 4-wheel drive into the lake region was very interesting. We boarded the Sea Spirit for our expedition to Antarctica Peninsula. Words cannot describe how wonderful the whole trip was. Even the Captain was astonished about the weather, and how many continental landings we could exerience. At some points Drake Passage was re-named Drake Lake.

The friendliness, professionalism and knowledge of the crew was very appreciated. They made the adventure that much more special and personalized. The ship photographer took time for each passenger to ensure we got the best pictures possible. Those photos of penguins, whales, glaciers, seals will remind us of the trip of our lifetime.

Fantastic, lived up to my expectations completely. The wildlife and scenery on the subantarctic islands was extraordinary particularly Macquarie Is. where one can walk freely amongst penguins (thousands), elephant seals, skuas and giant petrels. On the Ross Sea there were two memorable Zodiac trips amongst the bergs and pack ice which accumulate at Cape Adare (but stopped us landing), and the visits to the Scott Terra Nova and Shackleton Nimrod huts, both beautifully conserved, was very moving. Very careful and safety conscious on the Zodiac trips and excellent lectures and videos during the long days at sea.

The service, information, advice and help by eMail and phone from ExpeditionTrips was the best I have ever received from a tour agent, particularly given the distance and timelag (UK) between us.

I was worried that a 200 guest ship to Antarctica would be too many people, but I was wrong. It was wonderful. The people you meet on a trip like this are truly remarkable! The shipboard friends, penguins, icebergs, whales, birds were all bonuses!! Ship staff and naturalists guides were all professional experts in their fields AND fun to be with!

I was just shopping around on line and was led to the ExpeditionTrips website. I left a quick email. Jennifer called me back right away, helped me find the best tour package/provider for me and I was on my way! Jennifer Santoyo of ExpeditionTrips was very responsive. We were blessed with excellent weather and had gorgeous sightings of wildlife and their young (penguins with their chicks and eggs and elephant and fur seals with their cubs) as well as whales (orcas, humpbacks, southern right and fin whales). The Captain of ship and crew worked closely with expedition naturalists especially on whale sightings and gave plenty of time for photos and videos while respecting wildlife. That was great. Very professional and obliging and friendly, especially attentive to our 11 year old son. Polite housekeeping and service staff made living on board very easy and comfortable. We were prepared for a rough Drake Passage, but was not as bad. Weather was excellent and we managed to do all but 1 of the planned landings. With this trip and the previous trip planned through Expedition Trips, I encountered unusual and expected obstacles. Jessica and Amanda went to work immediately to help me successfully overcome those obstacles.

Despite being the coldest and windiest continent, Antarctica is also by far the most beautiful, both for its wildlife and its sheer physical splendour.  Those who undertake the Ross Sea voyage are rewarded not only with this, but also by being able to experience first-hand the crucible of Antarctic exploration: the ordeal of navigating the pack ice, the welcoming sentinel of Mount Erebus' plume, the historic huts of Borchgrevink, Scott and Shackleton, finally the impenetrable wall of the Ross Ice-Shelf. On top of all this,  Antarctica, with its unique system of governance, reminds us what a terrible mess we have made of the rest of the planet, but also inspires us to rectify all the harm we have done to it and ourselves.

The trip was wonderful. Be prepared to feel you are on another planet. The small ship size lets you become very friendly with many folks.

The planning part and the steps leading up to the trip were excellent. In fact, Jessica was great the whole time, but the step above is when there was an issue with the boats departure. She contacted me [even before the tour operator] on the ground did, so I knew before many others about the delay. She provided me with options and offered further assistance.

Great! The most memorable parts were: a two day tour of Iguazu Falls in one day; seeing King penguins on Catamaran trip in the Beagle Channel; sailing through Lemaire Channel both directions, on one beautifully sunny day and on one where our captain had to carefully navigate through the ice; camping on the snow with penguins for neighbors; climbing the hill at Paradise Cove in the snow and sliding back down; Zodiac cruising among icebergs; following humpback whales in the Zodiac and getting farther and farther away from the ship; seeing seals lounging on the ice; landing at Cape Horn; cruising Glacier Alley and being served food appropriate to each country for which the glaciers were named.

Keep up the great work in making trips of a lifetime really enjoyable and memorable for travelers. I had an amazing trip to South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula. South Georgia was wonderful with so much wildlife and the possibility to see them up close. To see about 200,000 king penguins in one landing was spectacular. I loved seeing all the fur seals, so cute, and the elephant seals, were very entertaining. The landscape was stunning and one 3 hour hike was a highlight as the weather was perfectly sunny and warm. The Antarctic Peninsula was wonderful: the unusual landscape, colors in various lights, icebergs of various shapes, and whale watching up close in the zodiac.

My trip was life changing!!! It's very hard to find the right words. This space, relatively untouched by man's destructive hands, is just AWESOME. Looking over the landscape at each iceberg, glacier, penguin, seal, whale, etc., took my breath away. Being blessed with this view, for 10 days, was humbling. And walking on Antarctica, there are no words to describe that. PLEASE make this trip a must. It's not cheap but WORTH EVERY CENT!!

The staff and crew earned a superior rating. Each of them addressed me by name, and the other 185 passengers. Our safety was their number one priority. They drove those zodiacs with such skill. I was very nervous, never being in a zodiac before. But they just got us through those icy waters with ease. The lectures and the information provided on and off the ship was invaluable. As a teacher, they have given me enough information for the last 20 weeks of school. I thank them on behalf of the Chicago Public Schools.

Reading about Antarctica and getting your emails inspired me to take the trip as I wanted to visit all 7 continents before I turned 60. It was GREAT, even better than I thought it would be. After traveling the world we were amazed and in awe of the beauty of Antarctica. Art by nature and a place like no other. Loved the adventure and all your help in making it happen! Everything was handled perfectly, there were no problems and your agents were a pleasure to work with. Thanks!!

The level of service was amazing. Both the service crew and the naturalist guides went out of their way to make this an amazing trip. The level of expertise by the naturalist crew was very impressive. Because my husband and I are both teachers, the educational aspect of this trip was very important to us. The folks we talked with at ET, were so helpful and seem to really care about us and our needs. All questions were answered and the pre-trip information was very helpful. We worked mainly with Lorraine, and she was/is wonderful. I hope to be able to plan future trips through her.

On a scale of 1 to 10 it was an 11. Everyone, from the cabin attendants to the Captain, was very accomodating and professional throughout the trip. Dining room wait staff, the expediton guides and entertainers were exceptional and catered to every need. Various members of the ship staff gave extra attention to my 13 year old grandson, by far the youngest member of the trip, and helped provide him with an experience he will cherish for the rest of his life.

Seeing the penguins up close and personal, and all the rest of the wildlife, seals, whales, various birds and scenery was incredible. We also met some great fellow travelers, like-minded people from various parts of the world.

My 75th birthday seemed a good excuse for a celebratory trip to the region! And my wife said, "Good idea!" Each day was a special delight - beyond my expectations. The most important aspects of a trip like this relate to the quality of the expert staff, and the important issue of security. The trip was A+ on both counts. The comfort factors, food, hotel staff, etc. are just frosting on the cake, and these were just fine. The trip exceeded my expectations - especially the educational part, and the attention to detail. The enthusiasm of the staff was infectious. And, oh, the weather was great.

I always wanted to see Antarctica. As a geomorphologist, seeing the glaciers and the impact that they have had on the surface was spectacular. ExpeditionTrips' service was designed to help me have a great trip and it worked. My expectations were high because I looked forward to taking this trip. Because of the weather and the seas, all my expectations were met and in many cases exceeded. We were both pleased with the service that we received and with the outcome of the trip. We would even do this one again at a different time of the year to see how the landscape changes as summer turns to fall.

The visit to Antarctica was my lifetime dream. Seeing the myriad colors of blue from the inky blue of the deep cold to the turquoise of the iceberg shadows on a backdrop of white is a rainbow I will always remember. The trip was more than I expected. I wanted to set foot on the continent; we did that 8 times plus I kayaked, hiked and plunged into the water. Additionally, the biologists, historian and other experts made the trip an educational experience. My experience with ExpeditionTrips was fabulous.  Besides ensuring that all our questions were answered as quickly as possible, the staff ensured that when my two travel mates were stuck in Houston, I was notified in Buenos Aires and our tours rescheduled.

Yes, my experience with Expedition Trips was definitely positive. I appreciate how you kept us informed. I saw my very first iceberg in person and the sight was absolutely amazing! It was close to us; it was huge; it had the typical bue-ish hue and I just gasped. It took my breath away; it was beautiful. They had several experts on board (geologist, bird experts, mammal experts, historians) who gave lectures regarding the rock formations that we would see, the types of sea animals and birds we would see, history of the early exploration of Antarctica.

Our experience with ExpeditionTrips was a very positive one. They let us know every piece of equipment we needed and also all documentation and made sure all our travel pieces were scheduled and accounted for. They answered every silly question we had without making us feel foolish. The longer I am home the more I miss Antarctica and wish to see it again. The trip was way beyond my expectations. I discovered I really knew very little about what Antarctica looked like. It was much more "alive" (teeming with life) than I expected. I especially appreciated the guides for all their hard work and making everything come alive on the zodiac cruises. I also appreciated how they went out of their way to make us feel safe on the zodiacs (they were a little bit intimidating and scary for me) and took everyone's concerns into consideration. The zodiac cruises ended up being my favorite part.

I thought the trip was incredible, had a great time & enjoyed every minute. Our expedition leader Don was very good; he was knowledgeable, flexible & realistic in describing what we might expect from plans & timetables etc. I thought that he always had the interests of the group at the forefront of his thinking about where we went next. When the conditions looked changeable or challenging he was always ready with a workable alternative. Our landings on South Georgia were all interesting & varied in terms of history, geography & wildlife - we packed in as much as possible - 10 landings/zodiacs in 4 days. The food served by Brendan & Jo was good, hearty food, quite an intelligent & non-repetitive set of menus; I thoroughly looked forward to meal times each day. Your staff worked tirelessly, were very personable & were always ready to help the passengers & assist with a smile. Alan the naturalist was very knowledgeable & seemed to be everywhere spotting wildlife and Dave the historian was an absolute gem, what a life he's led, a true story teller. Finally the captain & crew were all exceptional & made everything happen seamlessly. What sounds like a high price for a trip, is in fact good value when you look at what goes into it. What's more, the trip attracted a great bunch of people & has provided me with some wonderful memories for years to come.

My father was on Admiral Byrd's last expedition in 55-56 at McMurdo and I remember Dad's stories about Antarctica.  I always wanted to see it and I got to bring my 22 year old son.  The most memorable part was an evening in a protected cove with pan ice when we got surrounded by humpback and orca whales. The whole ship was silent except for the clicking of cameras; the moon and sun were both visible in the pastels of dusk.   The ship's crew was very helpful and accommodating.  I have an anaphylactic egg allergy and my friend was vegan. We had all of needs met and felt very well fed.

Yes, I would book again with Expedition Trips and have already recommended you to friends. The smaller things - such as the email received from Beth pre trip to wish us a fantastic time, all added up to a professional outfit. All in all, it's hard to say what was the most memorable part. Could it be the beautiful burnt orange sunset seen whilst sailing through the Lemaire channel with glassy waters around us, prompting an exodus of fellow travelers from the dining room to stand shoulder to shoulder on deck to admire the fantastic scenery in stunned silence? Or maybe the dozen or so Orca whales with their young that joined us at the ship's bow on the last night in the Antarctica Peninsula - as a little reminder of the nature we would soon be leaving behind?...

Jessica and Amanda were super. There was not an unanswered question - they were fun, engaging, and professional.  As someone who appreciates 'organized and attention to detail' they met and exceeded my expectations.  They were very prompt in responding to questions or concerns. As someone who has traveled a bit - I was highly impressed with their ability to truly listen to my ideas and wishes and identify a trip that 'worked' for me. I quickly ruled out a number of competitors who were trying to 'sell' me a trip - Jessica matched my wishes to a trip! Our expectations were met and exceeded. The expedition staff was so knowledgeable, everything so well coordinated.... We were impressed with their 'love' and 'passion' for their work, the continent and interest in sharing what they know. There were so many memorable moments - we kayaked, we camped...we saw glaciers calve, leopard seals 'smile' at us...there are no words or pictures that can capture how incredible the continent, wildlife, glaciers and icebergs are.

I've just had a trip of a lifetime to Antarctica with your staff and crew. I have backpacked around the world and was a bit nervous about booking an organised trip...however clearly I chose the best company because my voyage was like travelling with old friends. Everything was amazing. Don and the team were outstanding, devoted, passionate, informative, caring, exciting... and all the ing positive words you can think of!!! Don knew how to seize every opportunity that Antarctica gave us including cruising with 4 Orca whales aboard our zodiacs for two hours! He is truly an inspirational educator. The staff all communicated an infallible respect for the pristine nature of Antarctica and its breathtaking wildlife and I feel comfortable that our tour of the peninsula was responsible. Alan taught me more about wildlife than I have learned in my life. Jo and Brendan took care of my dietary restrictions better than my own mother and their meals were nutritious and delicious! The Russian crew worked tirelessly and were so friendly and eager to teach us about nautical aspects of expedition cruising. In short, I worship the ground you all walk on and could not have planned a better trip myself. Than you for a trip that exceeded my wildest dreams and has changed my life!

This was the best trip we have ever taken. The whole experience was magical…I especially appreciated the pains the lecturers and naturalists took in explaining why the Antarctic is so important and why we should keep it pristine and safe from exploitation (vested interest here – I’m a biologist.) …Our parkas with Antarctic patches have been the envy of all who have seen them. It’s finally too warm to wear them—damn—but as soon as the weather turns in the fall we’ll be sporting them and bragging about the wonderful voyage you folks engineered…

Words cannot explain the excitement I felt upon landing on King George Island. We’d finally arrived! Upon arriving on the Sea Adventurer the buzz in the air was palpable. Our cabins were comfortable with all the amenities one could want and the staff and expedition team were impeccable. Words fail me when trying to describe the experience we had during our Antarctic voyage. Each day brought a scenic new environment and sense of wonder. Our expedition team members were well-informed, entertaining and enthusiastic. Would I do it again? In a heart beat!

To be honest, I was quite apprehensive before starting this trip. I travel a lot, always independently, and I was hesitant to embark on an organized trip for 19 days. Fortunately, I found out that there were very friendly, interesting people among the passengers; on top of that, I found that the staff was truly great and open towards us, the passengers. Furthermore, the operation worked very well. So, it far exceeded my expectations.

One of the most special moments was our visit to the king penguin colony at Salisbury plain - it was an overwhelming, touching experience. It was a pleasure working with ExpeditionTrips. And yes, if I was considering a similar trip, I would definitely book with ET again!

ExpeditionTrips excelled with information and accommodations and the customer service was great. The trip exceeded expectations. Antarctica is like another planet. The lectures on the boat made it even more relevant to be there and the accommodations were excellent. We got married there and the crew went WAY out of their way to make it special.

My experience with ExpeditionTrips was phenomenal! Shelley Fry is an absolute STAR! We were not only well taken care of, but follow up was thorough to make sure we didn't leave anything behind. We would indeed take additional trips with ExpeditionTrips. I have already referred two couples and tell everyone I know to use ExpeditionTrips.

ExpeditionTrips was extremely helpful with their information and advice in finding the type of trip that would meet my needs. Apart from the personalized attention and follow-up on all needed details to secure a good trip, the thing that I liked most about ExpeditionTrips is the added value of, in the initial planning stage, helping me figure out what I really wanted from my trip to Antarctica and providing me with a lot of information on what’s out there, what options there are, etc. This approach of being a “free consultant” at the beginning was key to making a good choice.

My experience working with ExpeditionTrips was very positive and everyone was very helpful. At times I asked a lot of questions and had changes to my schedule and everything was handled quickly and with a positive attitude which I appreciated.

ExpeditionTrips did a great job especially considering how awkward it was trying to book the trip whilst trekking through Nepal! The trip completely blew away any expectations we had. I’m not sure you could improve on what we did. All of the staff, crew and guides were great. All the guides were experts who were keen to share their knowledge. The staff made sure everyone was having a good time and the Russian crew was amazing.

I know I’ve given the formal feedback on board ship but just wanted to let you know what a great trip we had again this time. All the people involved work so hard to make it a good experience for us all.

It went beyond my expectations! I think the staff, guides and crew did a fine job. We were kept well informed about our progress and plans so we always knew what was going on. The most memorable part  of the expedition was standing in Shackleton's hut. The extension I did of New Zealand was incredible.

What a fantastic adventure! Too many great things to list.  Penguins, whale, seals sea lions, historic huts, sea ice, icebergs, mountains, glaciers, riding in the zodiacs, feeling the ship getting pounded by big waves and then having a few days of smooth seas, the unpredictable always changing weather, hiking through tussock grass, the great people on the ship (passengers from NZ, AU, UK, Netherlands, Germany and US), staff and crew . . .   One of the most interesting things I saw was the tall tussock grass bending over in the wind while sitting outside of the station on Macquarie Island

The service I've had from Expedition Trips has been the best I've yet encountered, prompt, efficient, the personal touch. The most memorable parts were the Ross Island / Terra Nova bay area where we visited Captain Scott's Cape Evans hut, Shackleton's Cape Royds hut, had a session on the sea ice, saw the Cape Bird penguin rookery, the Inexpressible Island site where the Scott 'Northern Expedition under Lt Campbell spent the winter of 1911-1912 in a snow hole, and our landing at Gondwana Base. Also a Zodiac trip round some impressive icebergs.

Antarctica was on our "bucket list." I think that watching the penguins and taking a long zodiac tour around turquoise icebergs were probably the highlights. We loved the expedition leader, and all the lectures which different crew members gave. The killer whales that visited us abount the icebergs were a real treat.  Joy booked our domestic flight. I was having problems getting this done, and I appreciated that service very much. Communication was excellent. All questions (and we had quite a few) were met with informed answers. We'd say that our expectations were definitely met.
