The Cuba trip was a great success! Good accommodation on the ship. Crew, food & drink were excellent. Guide was absolutely terrific. Wonderful people and impressive social accomplishments (education, health, equality).

The most memorable parts were: riding in the old cars in Havana, visiting 3 schools (music and dance and regular elementary), extremely hospitable crew on the Panorama (Greek ship, Greek crew, Greek "Hotel Manager", multi-national wait staff), superb Panorama dining, the day in Havana (could have been one more day ;-) ), all day in Trinidad, Casa de Confianza lunch (an organic farm outside Vinales), the Cienfuegos Choir, and the "day at sea". So many of us loved the "down time" for that day at sea sailing towards Maria La Gorda, and Fuster community in Havana. Jennifer and Marybeth at Expedition trips were always so close at hand. AND . . . you taught me how to use Dropbox :-) . AND AND you had a bottle of wine arranged in our cabin for our 30th wedding anniversary when we arrived on board (the pastry chef on the Panorama also made us a cake; they dropped all the lights in the dining area after dinner that night and brought it out, and sang to us . . . nice).

10 out of 10. Most memorable parts of the trip were: excellent guides; huge opportunity to learn; variety of destinations (not Havana heavy); a bit of an opportunity for birding/nature.

Our guides were fantastic. My most memorable parts of the trip: drive in old 50's convertibles; trip to Cienfuegos; day-care center visit and Hotel Nacional.

This trip was one of the most interesting. The history both politically and socially were fascinating. Our Cuban guide and our American guide were knowledgeable and personable. We had several naturalists during our trip and they were also great. It exceeded expectations.

We had a fantastic expedition to Cuba. We were able to learn about Cuba through our visits with local naturalists, musicians, farmers, artists, and educators. We were lead by top-notch staff and guides. Our leader, CJ, was organized, flexible, creative, and fun. Our local guide, Edelso, was unflappable, knowledgeable, patient, and fun.

Most Memorable:
Agricultural stops - tobacco, coffee, organic gardens, La Terrazzo.
Birding in the National Park near Bay of Pigs.
Walking through Old Havana & celebrating my sister's birthday in a 50's car ride.
Walking back after dinner along the seawall. Trip coordination was wonderful, with guides who took all possible opportunities to educate, engage, and support us. The two guides were well-balanced: one Cuban, one USA and couldn't have been better! Their different perspectives added greatly to our experience

Our trip was fantastic. We were able to meet and discuss living and experiences with Cubans in their own turf. Honest and sincere dialog was exchanged. Our guides were beyond excellent. They were honest, open, and straight forward about the living conditions, obstacles, politics, and environment of Cuba.

If Cuba were a shoe, she would be part of my favorite pair. She has magnetic character and charisma. She is as beautiful, even in her well-worn state, as she is resilient and unbreakable. And she’s a comfortable fit for a traveler of any age, geographic origin, or political persuasion.
