Board the vessel at its moorage in Yangon and enjoy a relaxing lunch as you start your journey to Bagan. Enjoy a full afternoon of sailing and an introductory lecture about Myanmar’s way of life.
Explore the small town of Danuphyu in the morning, where General Maha Bandula led a Burmese defensive against the British troops during the Anglo-Burmese War. Admire the general’s memorial in Buddhist Pali University (Monastery). Later, discover local industry with a visit to a cheroot maker and a local tea shop. Return to the ship for lunch and dinner.
Spend the day relaxing on board as you make your way towards the ancient Myanmar capital Pyay (Prome). Take in the sights and sounds of the river, or make use of the ship’s many fine facilities like the pool and spa.
Arrive in Pyay in the morning and disembark for a visit to its impressive Shwesadaw Pagoda. Return to the riverboat and spend the rest of the afternoon sailing through the stunning scenery.
After a full morning sailing, enjoy an afternoon stop to explore the quaint Gawaechaung village by ox-cart for first-hand experience of the fascinating rural lifestyle along the Ayerwaddy River. Anchor this evening at Min Hla.
Begin the day with a morning visit to the Min Hla Fort, the site of a great battle during the second Anglo-Burman War. Continue to the trade port town Magwe and its famous Myathalon Pagoda. Enjoy a stop at the busy local market to experience the daily hustle and bustle.
Enjoy sightseeing at Salay. Visit the ancient teak monastery (Yout-Saun-Kyaung) and an impressive 20 ft straw lacquer Buddha. Spend the afternoon visiting ancient sites in and around Bagan with an experienced guide. Witness the setting sun over the marvelous Bagan plain. Celebrate your final evening on board with a cocktail party and special farewell dinner.
Disembark early morning for your return flight to Yangon and onward travel.
