Board the vessel in Bagan after and included flight from Yangon and enjoy a delicious lunch. Later, disembark for guided exploration of this ancient city and witness an unforgettable sunset over the Bagan plain. Watch local artists perform on board in the evening.
Start your day experiencing the sights and sounds of Bagan. Visit the gilded Shwezigon Pagoda, or take an optional excursion into Old Bagan by horse cart or bicycle. In the afternoon, set sail towards Salay to visit the Wooden Monastery and an impressive 20ft Buddha made of straw lacquer.
Visit the port town of Magwe and its famous Myathalon Pagoda, devotees come from miles around to join in religious festivals that take place here. Continue to Min Hla for a late afternoon visit to its fort that was the site of a great battle during the second Anglo-Burmese War.
Travel by ox cart to the quaint village of Gway Chaung taking in rural life along the Ayeyarwady River. Spend the afternoon sailing before reaching the ancient Myanmar capital Pyay (Prome). Discover the impressive Shwesandaw Pagoda and its imposing 10-story Buddha that watches over it.
Spend the morning exploring the ancient city of Sri Ksetra with its unique cylindrical stone stupas. Before returning to the ship, stop at the Shwe Myat Mhan Pagoda to see the only bespectacled Buddha in Myanmar. Spend the afternoon relaxing on board and taking in the scenery.
Disembark at the small port of Zalon. Ride a trishaw along its main street lined with colonial-style wooden houses and stunning large tropical gardens. Visit the Pyi Taw Pyan Pagoda. Continue to another less-visited town called Danuphyu where General Maha Bandula led defensive against the British troops during the Anglo-Burmese War.
Spend the morning relaxing on the deck as you make your way to Yangon. You may choose an optional excursion to Syriam, a sleepy village just outside the capital, to visit a pagoda set on a tiny island. Experience its dynamic riverside market and the grand Kyaik Khauk Pagoda.
