The Year of the Polar Bear

Why is the polar bear in danger?

Climate change is causing the thinning and disappearance of sea ice—which polar bears rely on to hunt—resulting in starvation and drowning. If warming trends continue unabated, scientists predict that two-thirds of the world's polar bears could disappear by 2050, and by the end of this century, they could be extinct.

Polar Bear SOS is mobilizing hundreds of thousands of Americans in favor of strong protection for the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act--a crucial first step toward saving the bear from the ravages of global warming.

Help Protect the Polar Bears - When you book an Arctic voyage with ExpeditionTrips during the month of March, we will donate $50 per person to Polar Bears SOS on your behalf.

For more information on how you can venture to the land of the polar bear, contact our Arctic Experts. To search for trips to Spitsbergen, Churchill, Baffin and more, click here.
