Arrive Baltra Airport and begin the 5-day cruise. Travel to Ballena Bay / Eden Islet on Santa Cruz. Explore this cove of green sand at the base of Dragon Hill. The beach contains a large amount of olivine crystals, the same that originate from volcanic materials.
Moreno Point’s main attractions are coastal lagoons amid black lava flows where there are several species of birds. See the panoramic view of three volcanoes, the most active of the Islands: Sierra Negra, Cerro Azul of Isabela Island and La Cumbre. Later, enjoy a dinghy ride at Elizabeth Bay, along the coast surrounded by mangrove forest for an opportunity to admire flightless cormorants, Galapagos penguins, and a resting area for sea turtles.
Visit the volcanic ash beach and coral area at Urbina Bay. Explore the uplifted coral reef that resulted from the 1954 volcanic activity, with a spectacular view of Alcedo Volcano. After the walk, enjoy time for snorkeling. Learn about the eruption of five volcanoes that formed this island on a visit to Tagus Cove. Admire a variety of seabirds, such as blue-footed boobies, brown noddy, terns, flightless cormorant, and a large number of Galapagos penguins (seasonal).
See the biggest marine iguanas mingling with sally-light foot crabs, as well as, flightless cormorants nesting sites at Espinoza Pointa. At Vicente Roca Point, enjoy great deep water snorkeling at one of the richest marine havens on Earth and the opportunity to find nazca and blue-footed boobies, noddies, brown pelicans, penguins, sea turtles, flightless cormorants, and white-tipped sharks.
This morning trek through the highlands of Santa Cruz, observe the famous giant tortoises in their natural habitat, walk inside surprising lava tubes. Then, travel to the Baltra Airport for return flights to the mainland.
