Itinerary
Day 1
Reykjavik / Hafnarfjordur, Iceland

Embark your vessel for introductions to crew and fellow travelers. Settle in to life on board as your voyage begins.

Day 2
Reykjavik / Hafnarfjordur, Iceland

Reykjavik, "The Bay of Smoke", is nestled in a bay that protects its dreamlike beauty from the wind. Iceland's capital is merely a stone’s throw away from the magnificent Icelandic outback, as evidenced by the large numbers of Arctic terns, wild geese and ducks found in the town center. Established around 874 C.E. by a Viking chief, the world’s northernmost capital is simultaneously fierce and fascinating. Nearby, amongst the rugged lava fields, natural springs throw their turbulent water towards the sky, performing an incredible show dressed in amber tones.

Day 3
At Sea

Cross the Denmark Strait heading towards Greenland. As you sail, explore the ship and enjoy time to take advantage of onboard amenities. Relax in the spa, read in the library, workout in the fitness center, enjoy a delicious meal, or watch incredible views from the panoramic lounge.

Day 4 – 5
Knud Rasmussen Fjord / Ammassalik, Greenland

Arrive in Greenland and cruise in the wake of Captain Jean- Baptiste Charcot’s famous ship, the Pourquoi Pas, which cast off from this island on July 11th, 1934 with four renowned scientists on board, including Paul Emile Victor who was an ethnologist and the mission leader. Greenland’s wild and unpredictable coastline captivated the explorers. After their initial experience, they decided to extend their journey to the heart of the Inuit communities.

Day 6
Sermilik, Greenland

Practically unknown until 100 years ago, the east coast of Greenland remains the most authentic and majestic part of the island. These days, this little-known location is the largest National Park in the world. Discover the Sermilik Fjord or “Iceberg Trail” with vast expanses of ice as a backdrop. Keep an eye on the sea as majestic humpback whales have been known to take up residence in this fjord in the summer. Marvel at the spectacular colors lighting up the sky in pink, mauve and white.

Day 7 – 10
Greenland Coastal Exploration / Farewell Passage

Witness the rugged and scenic coastline comprised of spectacular fjords and glaciers while traveling past Cape Farewell, the southernmost point of Greenland. Photo opportunities abound while marveling at the natural beauty of The Great North.

Day 11
Nuuk, Greenland

When Erik the Red, the exiled Norse chief, landed on Nuuk at the tail end of the 10th century, he found a fertile and welcoming land dotted with fjords. Settling there with a group of his former countrymen, they remained the principal inhabitants for 500 years until their population declined and gave way to the Inuit. Nuuk is situated at the mouth of one of the largest fjords in the world, where the waters never freeze. Spreading gently out towards the Davis Strait, Nuuk enjoys a historic town center rich in national heritage.

The National Museum is home to fabulous collections depicting the hunting and fishing lifestyle of Inuit people. Despite being Greenland’s largest city and its capital, Nuuk can only be reached by air or sea, as there are virtually no roads on Greenland. Vivid red, blue, green and yellow houses are a lively contrast to Greenland's somber waters and serve to lift the spirits of locals during winter months. Nuuk is visually emotive and imbued with expressions of the tundra, sea and sky.

Day 12 – 13
Ilulissat / Disko Bay

At the heart of Disko Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ilulissat Icefjord provides an extraordinary spectacle of surreal beauty. Sculptural icebergs continue on their timeless journey, shimmering with eternal light. Vast pieces of ice break off from the bergs rejoining the inexorable movement of the sea. Close by lies the town of Ilulissat, the region’s principal destination. Encircled by icebergs, it has retained a unique mix of traditional Arctic life, with multicolored wooden houses, huskies and leather tanners who still use the ancient methods of their ancestors.

Day 14
Greenland's Fjords

Discover extraordinary fjords while cruising past Kitsisarssuit. Sailing south towards Kangerlussuaq, Greenland's natural beauty continues to deliver abundant opportunities to capture its unique essence with remarkable photos.

Day 15
Kangerlussuaq, Greenland / Paris, France

Conclude the expedition and disembark in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. Transfer to the airport for your return charter flight to Paris.
