Then drive to the Namib Desert and Sossusvlei to witness amazing red sand dunes which rank among the tallest on earth. Journey by road via Walvis Bay along the coast to Swakopmund, a German colonial resort town. Continue your safari with two nights in the private Ongava Game Reserve, with possibilities to see lion, eland, mountain zebra, giraffe, various antelope and gazelle species, and to track white rhino on foot. Conclude your Namibian adventure with one night at Okonjimaís AfriCat Foundation, which affords an amazing opportunity for close encounters with leopard and cheetah.

Day 1
Arrive Windhoek, Namibia

Arrive to Windhoek International Airport where you will be met and transferred into Windhoek city to your hotel. Option of a city tour en-route if it appeals and if time allows. If required, lunch will be on own account today, but dinner with your safari guide is included.

Day 2
Windhoek / Namib Desert

You will be collected after breakfast by your guide and set off south over the Khomas Hochland Highlands and down the great escarpment to the Namib Desert. Here you will stay two nights (inclusive of meals) at a desert lodge located in or near the Namib Naukluft National Park. This afternoon enjoy an activity from the lodge.
Overnight at Sossus Dune Lodge

Day 3
Namib Desert / Sossusvlei

An early rise this morning for a magical excursion with your guide into the dunes at Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, some towering over 250 meters above the Tsauchab River Valley. The Namib Naukluft Park is one of the largest conservation areas in the world consisting of a diversity of landscapes, wind-sculptured rock formations and valleys, scrub-like terrain and gravel plains. One of the most spectacular sights here are the massive free-standing sand dunes at Sossusvlei. Visit Sesriem Canyon this afternoon and possibly take an easy walk from the lodge to round out the day.

Day 4
Namib Desert / Swakopmund

Today you will drive to the coast, crossing through dramatic Namib Naukluft Park desert landscapes and the Gaub and Kuiseb Passes along the way. Meet the Atlantic Ocean at Walvis Bay and then drive north up the coast to the seaside town of Swakopmund where you will check-in to your hotel. Dinner (included) this evening will be at the Tug Restaurant where they specialise in fresh, tasty seafood.

Day 5
Swakopmund / Ongava Game Reserve (Etosha National Park)

Depart Swakopmund after breakfast and head north-east up to your accommodations (inclusive of meals) located on the private Ongava Game Reserve which borders onto Etosha National Park. This afternoon, depart on a game drive in the reserve or Etosha National Park.

The private Ongava Game Reserve is home to lion, giraffe, rhino, Hartmann's mountain zebra, leopard, as well as many species of antelope. Etosha National Park is renowned worldwide for its game which inhabits one of the harshest environments on earth. The park boasts some 114 mammal and over 340 bird species and the Etosha Pan is one of the most important breeding grounds for southern Africa's flamingo population. Wildlife that one might see includes elephant, lion, giraffe, wildebeest, eland, kudu, gemsbok (oryx), zebra, cheetah, leopard, hyena, honey badger, and warthog, as well as the endemic black faced impala.

Day 6
Ongava Game Reserve (Etosha National Park)

Today your guide will take you on game drives within Etosha National Park at your leisure, including a visit to Etosha Pan and time spent at various waterholes where you can stop off to view game along the way. You can opt for a full day in the park or a morning and afternoon game drive so that you can return to the lodge for lunch and retreat during the heat of the day. You will exit the park before sunset to return to the lodge for dinner and your second night stay.

Day 7
Ongava Game Reserve (Etosha National Park) / Okonjima

The drive today takes you south to Okonjima, situated at the base of the Omboroko Mountains south of Otjiwarongo. Okonjima is home to the AfriCat Foundation which focuses on the research and rehabilitation of Africa's big cats, especially injured or captured leopards and cheetah. Close encounters with leopard and cheetah are an unforgettable highlight. Activities offered include leopard tracking by vehicle, an introduction to the cheetah project and the option to spend time at the night hide where nocturnal animals such as porcupine, caracal, honey badger, and even leopard may be seen. Your stay here is fully inclusive of meals and standard activities.

Day 8
Okonjima / Windhoek

Morning activity and brunch at Okonjima before you drive back to Windhoek via Okahandja. If there is time this afternoon you can explore Windhoek city, craft market and stalls for souvenirs before you are transferred to the International Airport, arriving in time to check in for your ongoing flight. Lunch is included if required, but if required, dinner would be on your own account today.

*A late afternoon departure flight is recommended to allow time for the morning activity at Okonjima and the return drive to Windhoek. A late morning or midday flight will mean returning to Windhoek first thing and missing out on the morning activity. An additional night in Windhoek can be included at extra cost if required.
