Alison became passionate about adventure travel after studying abroad in Chile, where she was inspired to embark on an epic year-long overland journey from Tierra del Fuego to Los Angeles. Infused with an appetite for adventure and exploration, she has traveled, lived, studied, and worked across the globe – from South America and Central America to Mexico, Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and most recently in Cuba. Thanks to growing up in the lush Pacific Northwest, Alison not only fell in love with the great outdoors, but also everything maritime. Her boat fever has led her to work as an expedition leader, kayak guide, lecturer, and naturalist on expedition ships in Alaska’s magnificent Inside Passage, wildlife-rich Baja, and the historic Columbia and Snake Rivers. Whether close to home or out trekking the planet, Alison enjoys backpacking, kayaking, skiing, hiking, and printmaking. She's also an Advanced PADI SCUBA Diver (Borneo is her #1 diving spot).

What My Clients Are Saying
"Alison Ashton was fantastic. She listened and learned about our interests and came up with suggestions that were right on target. She is knowledgeable about various services and put together a great itinerary both in Quito (Mindo cloud forest) and for our stay on the island after the cruise." ~ Esther K.
